Help me, oh heavenly father,
for I wish not to be like mine.
Help me, oh earthly mother,
for I wish to care like thine.
My soul is old and tired,
my body young and spry.
But that doesn't stop me
every time I try.
Help me, for I wish to find her,
the one who I shall unconditionally love.
To cherish and make her smile,
until we depart for the stars above.
My children shall not feel my pain,
nor walk the weight I bear.
For I wish them not to be like me,
almost fragile like a chandelier.
This is my prayer to you,
my father who has taught me right from wrong.
Let me bring some good on this mortal world,
before my time is gone.
